TWO WORLDS. ONE MISSION.
_
"For women navigating these spaces, the borderlands between weekend visits and weekday lives, the margins between these two worlds are proof that the world outside of prison is not free."

My name is Keeonna Harris and I am an ambassador and consultant for women raising children with an incarcerated parent. I provide coaching and a digital platform to help mothers navigate the weekday life of work, friends, and family, while simultaneously navigating the rules, regulations, and unspoken codes of the prison industrial complex.
I’ve seen both sides of having a loved one incarcerated; learning how to navigate your day to day, family responsibilities and prison can be a tiresome and lonely. Borderland Project was created because there are two distinct worlds. You may be going to work in the daytime, being a mom and trying to co-parent with an incarcerated person with the rest of your time.

ABOUT

GETTING STARTED IN THE SYSTEM
(1-hour session)

A LISTENING EAR
(4-week program)

A NEW WORLD
(6-month program)

My passion for dispelling the myth around what it means to be a Black mother and to raise children while living in the borderlands of the criminal justice system is necessary in the age of mass incarceration. When society or people create these borders it’s because they want to keep out the truth—how to become resilient, how to survive, and how to create community and knowledge.
SPEAKING TOPICS:

Black Motherhood | Mass Incarceration | Self-Care

SPEAKING
I offer resources and support to manage the delicate balance between prisons and everyday life with an ear, advice from my own experience, and a support system so you don’t have to feel like you’re doing it alone.
